Tony: We come from rock & roll. We both had bands, sometimes together. Jennifer’s first show was opening for Debbie Harry. The Flaming Lips would sleep on my floor. That’s the influence we brought with us to the beauty world. Irreverence and energy and glam and FUN. Beauty may be aspirational but we never understood the snobbery - make it accessible. Make the products sexy and clever and make sure they work.
Jennifer: I’ve done makeup for all the drag queens. I’ve done rock stars, girls getting ready for prom, and Princeton socialites. Everyone is allowed to be pretty.
